STORYTELLING 

Back when I first moved to the states from Indonesia, it was picture books that first helped me learn the English language and connect to people around me. As a 7th grader at Mesa Verde Middle School, I joined the yearbook staff, and storytelling has remained an essential part of my life since then. Though I decided not to pursue journalism as a career field, I love the perspective and keen observation skills that the field gave me. Some of these earlier pieces make me cringe now! But, it's always fun looking back and seeing how I've improved year to year.
